Klein Optenhorst lies in the historic Bovlei Valley near Wellington in the Western Cape. Owners, Naas and Jenny Ferreira have over the years, established a terraced garden which is home to one of the largest collections of Salvias in South Africa. The nineteenth century farmhouse looks out to a large farm dam with fine views of the surrounding landscape on the foothills of the Groenberg Mountain.

In 1990, a half hectare of Pinot Noir vineyard was established. The grape are currently vinified to sparkling wine in the Methode Champanoise style by renowned winemaker, Pieter Ferreira. Only 1592 bottles were of the maiden vintage (2009) were produced. (Sold out)
